    Tickets almost sold out. They have some left (60?) at the Firestone Brewery at the south end of Paso on Ramada.

    This is a benefit fund raiser for the Pioneer day Committee, the folks who have put on the parade since 1931.

    Beer 101 Course

    The material contained in this course is essential for anyone 'beginning' to take craft beer appreciation more seriously. If you work in retail sales, the restaurant industry or are simply a bourgeoning craft beer enthusiast, the Beer 101 Course provides a solid introduction to the beer universe.

    Beer101certificateThe course costs $15 to take, and requires approximately one hour of your time. Upon successful completion (must receive 70% or above) a student receives a printable certificate from the Brewers Association. This is an accolade worthy of inclusion in any resume as it demonstrates knowledge of beer fundamentals and shows your commitment to all things craft beer.

    Paso Robles Rhone Rangers Experience

    Join the 45+ members of the Paso Robles Chapter of the Rhone Rangers for the 2012 Paso Robles Rhone Rangers Experience. This fun-filled and information-rich day will include a moderated "Rhone Essentials" Seminar, a Vintners' Lunch, and the Grand Tasting and Silent Auction. The day's events will take place at Windfall Farms, a beautiful equestrian ranch just off Creston Road about 10 miles east of Paso Robles. Tickets for the seminar and lunch are just $75, and seminar/lunch attendees will receive free entry into the Grand Tasting.  Tickets for the Grand Tasting are just $25.  The Grand Tasting is free to qualified trade and media (advance registration is required).  To purchase tickets, or for more information, click here.

    Heads up!  It's time to get brewing for the 2012 National Homebrew Competition! 
    Here are some dates to help you plan your brewing schedule:

    What is the NHC?

    The National Homebrew Competition (NHC) is the world's largest international beer competition recognizing the most outstanding homebrewed beer, mead, and cider produced by amateur brewers worldwide.
    The 2012 NHC Rules & Regulations will be available for download in January 2012 .
    The First Round of the National Homebrew Competition (NHC) takes place at ten (10) judging locations in the U.S. in April. The best of the beer, mead, and cider entries in the regional competitions advances to the Final Round of the competition at the AHA National Homebrewers Conference. NHC winners receive gold, silver or bronze medals in 28 style categories.
    National Homebrew Competition Online Registration Opens Mid-February
    Feeling competitive? Make sure you register online for the National Homebrew Competition in mid-February. First round entries will be accepted March 19-28.
    The American Homebrewers Association is a division of the Brewers Association, established 1978 in Boulder, Colorado, USA. In 1979, 34 entries competed in the first National Homebrew Competition held in Boulder, Colorado.

    Missouri Valley Wine Society is in its 3rd year of the MVWS Wine Competition.  We welcome you back in what will be a bigger and better competition this year.  Last year, we had 249 entries from 12 states.
     
    We have a number of sponsors and judges again this year.   We have had a great turnout of judges representing Wineries each year.
     
    The wine competition will be February 20th.  The brochure and entry form can be found on our website:  www.mvws.org
     
    Deadline for entry and wine delivery is February 14th.

    The month of September will feature the release of three beers at the tasting room in Paso Robles. We will also be celebrating GABF at the brewery now that tickets are all sold out.

    9/14: Oaktoberfest will be available in the tasting room and our $4 fresh and local pint.

    9/21: Velvet Merlin will be available in the tasting room and the ...fresh and local pint.

    9/28: Double Jack will be available in the tasting room and again only $4 to celebrate!


    Also the week leading up to GABF we will be celebrating by having one of our GABF winning beers on special.

    9/14: Oaktoberfest 2008 silver - $4 pints

    9/15: Nectar IPA 2002 and 2003 gold 2009 bronze - $3 pints

    9/16: Pale 31 2007 gold 2008 bronze - $3 pints

    9/17: Union Jack Two-time defending gold medalist '08 and '09 - $4 pints

    And join us Saturday 9/18 for real time results from the Great American Beer Festival. We'll be pouring $3 pints of the medal winners as they are announced!
