2012 OC Fair Homewine Competition

Welcome to the 2012 OC Fair Homewine Competition. Attached is the current information for entering your wines this year.

The Orange County Wine Society, in conjunction with the OC Fair, is proud to sponsor the 36th

OC Fair Homewine Competition. This will be held on Saturday, June 9, 2012 at the OC Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa. All amateur winemakers in California are invited to submit their wines for judging.

Wine Entries are to be submitted On-Line for the first time this year. This will allow you to submit your wines more quickly, calculate fees, make changes up until the deadline, enter the Wine Label Competition and minimize errors all at the same time. There are instructions and a tutorial video that will guide you through the process. We suggest that you take advantage of them before you begin entering. You may go to our web page at ocws.org , then to "What's New"and then click on "Homewine Competition Wine Entry" to begin. There is also a link on the home page next to the photo of some of the Competition Volunteers.

DEADLINE: Last day for entries is May 19,2012. All wines should be either dropped off at designated locations or shipped direct by that date.

Get ready for the Wines & Steins Annual Installation BBQ; Sunday, June 10th, 2012 from 12-4p.m.@ the downtown Templeton Park. It's a fun way to "wrap-up" the past year & "kick-off" the new one, enjoying the company of our Wines & Steins friends. $8 per person for mixed barbeque, garlic bread & beer.

Please bring your own service, other drink of choice & an appetizer or side dish or dessert to share.
Wines & Steins members & their guests are invited to register online or pay @ our next meeting; Friday, May 4th, or mail your checks to: Johna' DeBellis @ 305 19th Street, Paso Robles, CA 93446.

All exhibitors must be amateur beer makers and reside in the county of San Luis Obispo or Santa Barbara. Please indicate on entry form variety of beer to ensure proper judging.. JUDGING IS NOT OPEN TO THE PUBLIC. Entries must be received between the dates allotted. All state and local rules apply. Print out entry receipt and rubber band around each bottle accordingly. Each entry consists of two (2) 12 oz. bottles for all classes.
Due to health and safety regulations, upon submission to the contest, all entries become the property of the California Mid-State Fair. Winning entries will be placed on display for the duration of the Fair in Commercial Building #2. Best of Show will be selected on overall points.
